Office of the Public Guardian (OPG)

Office of the Public Guardian is a Executive Agency sponsored by Ministry of Justice. The OPG’s remit is to support and enable people to plan ahead to prepare for both their health and their finances to be looked after should they lose capacity in future by registering Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), and to safeguard the interests of people who may lack the mental capacity to make certain decisions for themselves through the supervision of court-appointed deputies and investigating concerns when they are raised. Our primary customers are members of the public seeking to register LPAs or who already have an LPA in place.

Regional Remit

OPG operates in England and Wales. Their headquarters are located in West Midlands.
