British Tourist Authority (BTA)

British Tourist Authority is a Executive NDPB sponsored by Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The statutory functions of the BTA are as follows: i. To encourage people to visit Great Britain and people living in Great Britain to take their holidays there; ii. To encourage the provision and improvement of tourist amenities and facilities in Great Britain; iii. The BTA also has a statutory duty to advise any minister or public body on matters relating to tourism in Great Britain as a whole. VisitBritain, specifically, works on behalf of Great Britain to promote the UK as a destination to potential visitors from overseas. VisitEngland, specifically, is responsible for supporting the visitor economy within England.
