Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain (TrafComms)

Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain is a Tribunal NDPB sponsored by Department for Transport. The eight Traffic Commissioners (and Deputy Traffic Commissioners) are appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport and have responsibility for the licensing and regulation of the operators and drivers of large goods vehicles, buses and coaches. They are also responsible for registering the majority of local bus services. They fulfill other statutory roles in accordance with the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995, Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981, the Transport Act 1985, the Transport Act 2000, the Transport (Scotland) Act 2001.
